Maria Gianola was born in Venice in 1969 and began drawing secretly on school notebooks. At the age of eight she received her first prize as an illustrator. Since then she has never stopped. After studying at the University, she dedicated herself to oil painting and then to illustration. She likes to take her three little girls for a walk through the streets of her incredible city, looking for new secret corners every day, and to go by boat between the sandbanks and the tiny islands of the Lagoon. She is very fond of Nero and Matilde, the characters she invented for the pages of the magazine “Famiglia Cristiana” and “GBaby”.
